Care, Love and Shine
Jewellery makes us shine and gives us character. We give it life!
We love jewellery, we wear it every day, some we wear more than others.
We all have that favorite ring we never take off; a necklace or set of earrings that goes with all of our clothing.
We find it difficult to part with our silver or gold pieces in the shower, in the sea or at the gym.
But how much can they take?
How long will their shine last?
What can we do to take care of them?
All jewellery materials, be they made of precious metals or stones, wear out (get
scratched, bent or lose their shine) over time.
Below you will find a few simple tips on how to keep your jewellery bright
and shiny and to give it a longer life.
- avoid wearing your jewellery in the sea, at the gym or
bringing it in contact with cosmetics and creams (the chemicals in these can tarnish metals).
- silver jewellery can be cleaned using hot water and baking soda
and a toothbrush to scrub the surface. Use a hairdryer to dry.
- use a soft cloth to rub down the surface of your jewellery each time you remove it.
- store your jewellery in their original boxes, in jewellery boxes,
in cloth/leather/velvet bags or even in small plastic zip lock bags.
